Reading a SASSA advert

  • Internal vs external: internal adverts are for current employees; external adverts are open to everyone.
  • Region and office: posts are tied to a specific regional or local office.
  • Requirements: qualification, years of experience, driver's licence and computer literacy are often listed as essential.
  • Employment equity: adverts may state which groups are preferred for the post.
  • Errata: SASSA sometimes publishes corrections, so check for an erratum before applying.

Internships and work-integrated learning

Regions periodically invite unemployed graduates to internships and TVET learners to work-integrated learning, usually as fixed-term contracts with a monthly stipend stated in the advert. See also our internship and graduate programme guide.
